Take your riding to the next level. Christina Hambrook offers training and riding clinics for riders wanting to ride over obstacles better.

Christina has trained riders who have won Youth World Champion, Extreme Cowboy Racing, and dozens of awards at Extreme Cowboy Racing Alberta.

She competes in the pro division of Extreme Cowboy Alberta, consistently placing near the top. You’ll also find Christina behind the scenes mentoring new riders on how to get their horse out (or in) the trailer, relaxing nervous newbies and shouting encouragement from the sidelines. She was awarded the Inaugural Doris Heintz Award for leadership.

Christina was a Ranch Girl with the Calgary Stampede riding high-energy horses at grandstand and rodeo performances. As an ambassador of the Stampede, she’s even ridden a horse down Wall Street in New York City!

Winter Horsemanship Clinics

Clinic One: Liberty and Body Language

Saturday, January, 22nd 2022  

FULL (ask about wait-list)

Learn to listen to what your horse is saying to you and what they need from you. Communicate with them in a way that is easy for them to understand by working at liberty without bridles and tack. Build a deeper relationship with your horse by interpreting their body position, the direction of their gaze, and their energy level once they are off the lead. 

 Clinic Two: Ground Work & In-Hand Obstacle Work

Saturday, February,5th 2022 

9am-12pm  OR  1pm-4pm

(Maximum 4 persons per session)

 Improve your control of every part of your horse from the ground. Learn how to introduce obstacles to your horse and teach your horse to trust you. Getting comfortable with basic obstacles on the ground will provide the right framework for approaching obstacles while mounted. A mid length whip and rope halter is required.  

 Clinic Three: Body Control & Introduction to Obstacles While Mounted

Saturday, March, 5th 2022  

9am-12pm  OR  1pm-4pm

(Maximum 4 persons per session)

Transfer the skills you learned on the ground to approaching and tackling obstacles while mounted. You will learn the best ways to position your horse near obstacles and how to control where your horse puts its body and feet. The obstacles in this clinic are suitable for beginners. A mid length whip and rope halter is required. Previous clinics are not required but recommended.  

            

Fee: Clinics are $100 each (GST included)

To get more information on a workshop or to secure your place in the workshop, text 403-969-7708. E-Transfer payment required to complete registration. Cancellations made up to one week before the workshop will have 100% of fees refunded. Cancellations with less than 24-hours’ notice will be refunded if another participant can be found. If no alternate is found, there will be no refund. Cancellations with less than 24-hours’ notice will not be refunded. 

Participants will be asked to sign a waiver. 

Don’t have you own horse? There are a limited number of school horses available at $50/clinic. There are also a small number of spectator spots.
